Notre Dame Football Legends
This is Rudy. Many of you know him from the movie "Rudy". He is one of Notre Dame's biggest football legends. Daniel Ruettiger nicknamed "Rudy" had a hard time in high school because he was dyslexic. He attended Joliet Catholic High School. He joined the Navy after he high school. After 2 years at Holy Cross, Ruettiger was accepted by Notre Dame as a student in the fall of 1974. His dream was to play for the Notre Dame Football team. After working really hard, Rudy earned a spot on Notre Dame's scout team. In his last chance to play for Notre Dame at home, his coach put him in the game as a defensive end against Georgia Tech. He played for only 3 snaps of the game. On his very last snap, he recorded a sack. After the game, his teammates carried him off the field. He has won many awards after his college life.
